Robots continuously taking over jobs will be a trend that is unlikely to stop. Robots are taking over jobs over all industries. This is not just happening; robots are improving their skills, getting ranked higher in corporate, proving their productivity, continuous quality, and taking out human counterparts. Robots are starting with the most repetitive jobs and expanding their skills for more complicated jobs. This could affect you and your family.
In my robotics class, this was brought up. A student had said right before they told their workers that they were to be released in a few months, his father ranked up in the corporate. He worked in a company where they had to go to high heights and inspect. They released about five hundred workers who had to go home and tell the news to their family that they are going to be replaced by drones. They gave them a few months noticed for them to find a new job. Luckily, my friend’s father had been ranked up before this could’ve happen to him.
According to Gizmodo.com, each additional robot in the US economy reduces employment by 5.6 workers, and every robot that is added to the workforce per 1,000 human workers causes wages to drop by as much as 0.25 to 0.5 percent.
The more skills that a robot has it allows the robot to take over more jobs. People should be more aware of this happening otherwise it could just smack them in the face one day. While signing up for your future career choice, think about the other possibilities that could happen.
